Find out: Who Calls the Shots on September 12!

Press Release
MN Lynx to host "Who Calls the Shots?" Event in Partnership with Emmett Till Legacy Foundation
09/03/08 - MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - In anticipation of the 2008 Minnesota state primaries and general elections, the Minnesota Lynx today announced a partnership with the Emmett Till Legacy Foundation to host the organization's "Who Calls the Shots?" event.

Prior to the Lynx game on Friday, Sept. 12, against the Phoenix Mercury, prospective voters will have the chance to participate in a question-and-answer session with many of the Twin Cities' key public officials and decision-makers. The discussion will take place from 5-6:30 p.m. and will be held in the hospitality room on the suite level of Target Center.
The civic-engagement event will serve as an educational opportunity for new and potential voters to explore how significant decisions are made and how those decisions can impact their futures. Young professionals and all others who are now eligible to vote will also be able to register to vote at the event.

Participants who are 18 years old and younger will receive a ticket to the game and a Lynx gift bag. Adults who are 19 years old and up can attend the event for only $10, which also includes a ticket to the game. All "Who Call the Shots?" attendees will be invited to stay for a postgame autograph session with Lynx players.

In addition to the "Who Calls the Shots?" event, the Lynx will promote voter participation during their two remaining regular season games through on-site registration, displays, arena messaging and public service announcements.
