Remembering the 95th anniversary of Mamie Till Mobley 's Birthday
Happy Heavenly 95th Birthday to Mamie Till Mobley, the mother of Emmett Till. Born Mamie Elizabeth Carthan (Till-Mobley) on this day Nov 23, 1921. This marks the 95th Birthday of our Shero, #motherofthemovement and inspiration, the Mother of #EmmettTill #author #playwrite.
Her pain United our Nation and inspired the #civilrights movement and many to fight against racism and injustices endured by African Americans and others facing violence and discrimination. The strong #SpiritOfMamieTillMobley lives on today. This special briefing event brings together the Coalition for Emmett Till Reauthorization act, members of the House of Representatives and investigative journalists who believe it is necessary to pass the Emmett Till Unsolved Civil Rights Crimes Reauthorization Act of 2016. The passage of the Bill will support the efforts of families and advocates who seek justice for racially-motivated killings of loved ones during the Civil Rights Era and beyond.
